9 February 2012: Now being cast are a Cockpit Detail Set and a AN/APS-6 Radar Fairing for the Platz Hellcats, a Cockpit Detail Set for the Dragon Lockheed F-117 and a Cockpit Detail Set for the Hasegawa Harrier Egg Plane.

30 January 2012: The 1/200 Airbus A319 Conversion Kit is now available, and the 1/200 airliner range is now complemented by a selection from Draw Decal in the USA.  A selection of 1/144 decal sheets from Draw Decal is also available.  The latest Egg Plane release from Hasegawa, the F-22 Raptor, inspired us into designing a Cockpit Detail Set, which is now available too.

12 December 2011: Last releases of the year, Folks..: Set RW44018 offers Dustbin sand filters for the 1/144 Revell kits, while RW44020 is a detailled jet engine nacelle for the Trumpeter Me-262 kits.  Set RWE013 is a Modern US Navy Pilot with Fishing Trophy while RWE014 is a Cockpit Detail Set for the F-15 Egg Plane; the latter includes details and additional parts for the Eagle's airbrake.  At the caster's is the next 1/200 airliner conversion kit, the Airbus A319.  This should be out first thing next year.  In the making are 1/144 bits for the F-15E, F-117 and A-10...

16 November 2011:  The first appearance of RetrokiT at the Scale Model World show in Telford coincided with the release of numerous new RetroWings items, including the F-18 Egg Planes Details Sets, two 1/144 detail/conversion sets for the Dragon/DML Kfir and no less than four 1/144 detail/conversion sets for the Revell Hawker Hunter.  Telford also saw the release of the very first RetroWings 1/144 decal sheet, 'BAe Hawk in Worldwide Service', with markings for no less than 13 short and long-nosed Hawks, as well as for two Hawks 200 in the colours of the Air Forces of Zimbabwe, Kenya, Abu Dhabi, Malaysia, South Korea, Dubai, Kuwait, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and Oman.  For a limited time only, the very nice 1/144 OzMods Hawk T.1 kit is made available under the RetroWings label (RW44026) and a special combo price marries both products (RW44026D).  Speaking od decals, note that Starfighter have announced that they will be discontinuing their current ALPS-printed range...  Sets 144107, 139 and 140, for the E-2Bs and A-7s, are already discontinued.  Starfighter are working on a new range of silk-screened decal sheets, including a A-4F Blue Angels one that should become available in December this year.  It is possible that some of the existing markings will be re-issued at one time or another in the future as part of a larger sheet, but we would advise everyone to buy the remaining ALPS sheets as early as possible, before they disappear for good..!  Finaly, a selection of 1/200 airliner decals will shortly be available from those pages, courtesy of DRAW Decals.

3 October 2011:  The earlier Revell Tornado kit gets the 'RetroWings treatment' with a superbly detailled replacement cockpit.  This set is meant to be used with the Tornado ECR kit, Ref.04036, only.  No less than four sets are now out to detail the Revell Alpha Jet kits: 3 different cockpit detail sets, for the Alpha Jet A, Alpha Jet E and Alpha Jet 1B, each with a replacement cockpit tub and their respective separate and minutely detailled ejection seats, plus a set to correct the curious 'illness' of the Revell kit, suffering from a very distinct and annoying rear fuselage 'banana effect'.   Two new 'Egg Planes' figures hit the RetroWings catalogue too:  a USAF Korean War Fighter Pilot with Toy Aeroplane will add another touch of humour to the F-86 egg plane, particularly if you have the earlier edition of the kit, in Korean War markings; failing that, the Geisha-pilot will adequately liven up the later and current Blue Impulse boxing of the same kit, or even the current JASDF boxings of the F-4, F-15 and T-4 egg planes...

23 September 2011:  Two new RetroWings DC-9 conversion kits are available from today.  The RetroWings egg planes range will be added to over the next few days, as will the 1/144 range...  In the making are detail & conversion sets for the Dragon Kfir and the Revell Chinook and Hunter. The Jumo 004 will soon be available to convert the Trumpeter kit too.

2 September 2011:  The Egg Plane Space Shuttle Payload Bay Detail Set & Space Shuttle Astronaut are available now!

This set includes a replacement payload bay (with separate front & rear bulkheads), replacement payload bay doors (with radiators partly opened), Ku-band antenna, replacement robotic arm and hamburger payload & payload brace.  The Space Shuttle Astronaut is available separately and advantageously replace the Hasegawa kit astronaut who wears a more 'Apollo' type space suit.

23 August 2011:  The P-51 Egg Mustang Cockpit Detail Set is available!

The next set out should be the Alpha Jet Cockpit Detail & Correction Kit.  In 1/200, kit RW20002, DC9-30 Conversion Kit, is at the caster's and should become available early September.  Also at the caster's are the 'Egg Planes' references RWE004, 005, 006, 008 and 009..!  007 is still 'in the making'..!   Their nature can be revealed:

This picture shows the pattern of sets RWE008 and 009; the mystery payload will be revealed in time...  Facebook users can attempt to guess its nature and the first one to get it right will receive a complimentary package with sets RWE008 and 009 once they are available..!

14 June 2011:  Sets RWE003 and RW20001 are out now.  RWE003 is a resin detail set meant for the Hasegawa F-86 Sabre Egg Plane.  The set features a very detailled cockpit tub, separate front instrument panel, ejection seat and stick, plus an exhaust pipe for the jet engine, a new front undercarriage and new main landing gear legs.  Expect two pilots to become available soon to complete this set: a JASDF Geisha-pilot for the current 'Blue Impusle' boxing of the kit, and a USAF 'Korean War' Fighter Pilot for the earlier boxing of the kit.  In preparation are similar sets for the F-18, F-16, F-4, Zero and Space Shuttle...

Set RW20001, pictured below (2 May update) is the first of our 1/200 airliner conversion kit: This 4-part resin set will transform the Hasegawa DC-9-40 kit into the shorter DC-9-20 'Sport', which was manufactured at the express request of SAS.  DC-9-10 and -30 conversion kits will become available shortly.

2 May 2011:  Sets RW44010 and RW44011 are available...  The 1/144 Me-262 Jumo 004 engine nacelle is a very nice little one-piece set that fits the right wing 
of the Eduard Me-262 kits like a glove.  I know that a quality pattern is important, but I must say that the caster in question is a true artist..!  Hats off to him..!

Item RW44011 is part of a trade-off with The Aviation Workshop; it consists of two 1/144 winglets for the Boeing 737 BJJ or C-40B/C Clipper, to fit the Revell 737-800 kit.
It is not my intention to enter the world of 1/144 airliner modelling, but I do plan to release a few more conversion sets for military variants of airliners at that scale.  Suggestions (and info) are welcome!  

However, airliners do interest me and I am pleased to announce the forthcoming release of a DC-9-20 conversion kit, aimed at the Hasegawa 1/200 DC-9-40 kit... 
This first 1/200 conversion set will be followed by at least two more aimed at the same Hasegawa kit (DC-9-10 and DC-9-30).  Conversion kits for other 1/200 airliners are being planned.  Again, suggestions and info are most welcome!!!
  
Expect us to start carrying a selection of 1/200 decals to cater to those conversion kits.  Item RW20001 should become available in June 2011.

Sets RWE001 (Mirage 2000-Egg Cockpit Detail Set) and RWE002 (Modern French Pilot with Baguette) are to be released soon; 
they are meant to complement the AFV Club Mirage 2000 'egg-style' model kit...


28 March 2011: Kit RW44004 Douglas A4D-1 Skyhawk is now available!  The kit comes with Starfighter-designed and -manufactured decals
 for a VA-12 aircraft based on the USS Ranger.  The Rafale sets are currently on-hold while we await the release of the new Academy kit...  
In the meantime, various sets are in preparation for the Dragon Tornado, the Revell Starfighter and Platz Crusader. 


21 March 2011: In production, kit RW44004 Douglas A4D-1 Skyhawk and sets RW44008 A-6 Intruder Cockpit Detail Set (for the Dragon kits) and RW44009 A-4 E/F Slick Fuselage (for the Platz kits).  Just completed: pattern for set RW44010 Me-262 Jumo 004 Engine Pod (for Eduard kits).  

    
This kit features a 2-piece canopy, detailled cockpit with separate NAMC ejection seat, 
separate arresting hook, slats, flaps and tailplanes with 'chafe' plates.
